4th Infantry Division, 1956 (Source: Webmaster's collection) 2,000 men of the 4th Infantry Division, stationed in the Frankfurt area, participated in a colorful review parade in downtown Frankfurt am Main as part of the ceremonies held during a week of special German-American friendship observances in early May 1956. The Division, having served for five years in Germany, is in the process of returning to the U.S. as part of Operation GYROSCOPE.
